Walkthrough - Chapter 4 (Optional Scout Chapter)Last Update: February 9, 2002 Inner Keep Lvl 1Talk to Page Entrowe. He will say that Mudam wishes to see you immediately. Go to the Outer Keep Lvl 2. Outer Keep Lvl 2Talk to Mudam. He will offer you an opportunity to accept his assignment or to take other assignment. He also say that Corvus healed up and has returned to dusy. If you refuse to accept the assignment, you will not be able to play chapter 4. Accept his assignment. He will ask you if you have heard anything about some Sha'ahoul activity not far from Avalon's walls. Answer that you only hear rumors but she will say that they are not rumors. She then ask you to investigate 3 locations (SW, S and E of Avalon) while you can and report to him. He also say that Olon paid a lumps of money to have a magical item made specifically for him, a mask. The mask allows someone to look like the Sha'ahoul Warrior caste and to be able to understand their language. He warn that Olon will probably ask you to do something for him. He also ask you to look for a scout that was sent investigating with some maps. He fears that the worse has happened to him. Then, he tell you that since there is only one mask, he suggest you to do the mission alone and to leave your party members behind. Finally, Mudam ask you to go visit General Roth as he have something he want you to do in the same region. Return to the Inner Keep Lvl 1. Inner Keep Lvl 1Talk to Sir Roth and tell him you were sent by Mudam. He will say that when Ovoron left he took some "secret" documents with him. He also say that Field Marshalls keeps a few choice documents secreted away, for insurance. Then he say that Ovoron put the Battle Plans inside his satchel and uses a tent. Sir Roth would like you to recover the satchel from the tent that Ovoron should still be using in the Sha'ahoul region. Talk to Page Entrowe and tell him you spoke to Mudam. He will tell you that Ambassador Johfrit is looking for you. He also warns you of the existence of trained Sha'shoul dogs with excellent senses. In the main hallway, talk to Johfrit. He will say that he is the Ambassador of Artoy and that they suffered a Sha'ahoul ambush before they arrived. His assistant, Edgard, was taken and he was carrying some tactical information about Avalon. He wants you to rescue Edgard and to make him trust you, tell him the name of his favorite hound which is Chuckles. Go to the Outer Bailey. Outer BaileyTalk to Olon. Tell him that you need his mask and he will say that he requires a service in exchange for its use. He wants you to use the mask to steal one of the dreamwalkers' prized wands. He then tell you to pick up the mask from Pell.Talk to Pellandrian. She will say that she added an enchantment on a mask to be able to speak the Sha'ahoul tongue. Tell her that you was sent by Olon to pick up the mask. She will give you the Magical Mask. Go to South Gate Lvl 2. South Gate Lvl 2Talk to Elazar. Elazar will tell you that he had an vision last night and that he saw an immense Sha'ahoul battering ram. He will ask you to destroy the ram. Go to the Village 1. Village 1If you are wearing the magical mask, Sha'ahoul will not be attacking you and you will be able to talk to them. On the western side, kill all the Mercworgs (6) to get 2 Training Points. Go east to Village 2. Village 2Kill all the Voreworms (10), located in the cementary and near the fence area, to get 6 Training Points. Go east to Village 3. Village 3If you are not wearing the mask, be cautious of the Sha'ahoul Shaman. He can summon a large number of Skeletons. In the southwestern area, you can find Old Ben. He is a good friend of Mudam and he is currently doing a mission for him. He does not want you to give any message to Mudam. Go east to Village 4. Village 4ANTHOLOGY CD ONLY: A Sha'ahoul Warrior, on the eastern side, is carrying a Tunic Of Warmth. Go to the northeastern area until you see some Naga. You just have found some signs of non-human sentient life. Then, go to the southeastern area and talk to Sha'ahoul Scout Master (Be sure to wear your Magical Mask). He wants you to retrieve an article of clothing from the Hound Master without being detected by his dogs to the South-West. In exchange, he will teach you the Camouflage skill. Go south to Village 8. Village 8Nothihg much on this map. In the center of the map there is a small camp. Sha'ahoul Warriors and Sha'ahoul Scouts are spawning every few minutes. Go west to Village 7. Village 7Be sure to wear your Magical Mask before you enter the map. Go to the center of the map, and talk to Shallon. Tell him you are new to the camp and he will tell you he is also new. You will have a nice conversation with him and you will notice that he uses often "Va" when talking to another warrior. A little bit South-East of Shallon, you will notice a group of Trainees. You now have found proof of a formation of troops. Go west to Village 6. Village 6Nothing important on this map. Go west to Village 5. Village 5In the southwestern area, kill the 5 Mercsworgs to receive 2 Training Points. Go south to Village 9. Village 9It is important on this map that you avoid being detected by War Dog. In the northwestern area, talk to Pretik. He is an Sha'ahoul Hunter. In the western area, inside a small building, there is a Dead Scout. Look on its corpse for some items, including A Map which, when equipped, reveals the complete map of the area. Near the Dead Scout, talk to Siilazin. He is a Sha'ahoul Hunter who tells you about his adventures in a hunting party that kills a scout. You figure out that "Ha" is the hunter's honorific. Go to the southeast corner, you will find various tents. Talk to Breetag. He is surveying the troups on their opinion about the food that they are getting. Enter the tent and get the Assassin's Knife from the chest inside. To the west, talk to Kaldden. He is missing the sight of the sun bathing the land and also his love. Go east to Village 10. Village 10There are various Ahouls on this map and they attack you even if you are wearing the Magical Mask. In the southwestern area, there are Sha'ahoul Workers working on a Battering Ram Shell. Go close to him and you will have proof that they are constructing a stout framework of logs. Go to the southwest area to the Hount Master tent, and be sure to avoid detection, go inside. Take the Tunic (Houndmaster) from the Hound Master's Chest. The best way to do it is to walk north of the camp, go to Village 11, walk a little bit south and go back to Village 10 close of where the tent is. Wear the Tunic that you just got. By wearing it, War Dogs will think that you are one of them and will not turn hostile against you. Go back to Village 4. Village 4Talk to Sha'ahoul Scout Master and tell him you have recovered the Houndmaster's shirt. You now learn the Camouflage skill (+4 Stealth, -15 Restriction, +2 Perception) for 20 Training Points. He then offer you other missions to learn more skills :
Go to Village 11 (east of Village 10 or south of Village 7). Village 11In the northwestern area, talk to Mard. He is crafting some arrows and offers you some. You find out that "Ta" is the honorific by which craftsmen are called. Talk to Darg, who is close to Mard's location. He tells you that warriors accompagn the supply train and think you are here for that reason. Tell him that you met a warrior that is lamenting that he did not get out of camp much at all and that his name is Kaldden. You will get 2 Training Points. You can also talk to Fuzillas. He is worried about the influence the dirtmen are having on the Sha'ahouls. ANTHOLOGY CD ONLY: In the center area, you can find a Mana Bow inside a Chest.. Go east to Village 12. Village 12This map have 2 camps and both have Shamans, be cautious. Kill the Lizardmens who are located on the eastern side of the map. Return to Village 4. Village 4Talk to Sha'ahoul Scout Master and tell him you have eliminated the lizardmen. He will teach you the Focus skill. If you talk to him again, he will give you some historical background and also tell you what you have accomplished. Go to Village 13 by going south of Village 9. Village 13In the big tent on the western side, there are 2 chests. One of the chest has a Dream Walker Wand, be sure to take it. The other chest have a few magical items. Go east to Village 14. Village 14There are some maglcal items inside a chest inside a tent located on the western side. ANTHOLOGY CD ONLY: The chest also has a Voreworm Skin Shoes. Go east to Village 15. Village 15Inside General Ovolon's Tent, on the eastern side, open the chest and get the Ovoron's Satchel. You can not kill General Ovoron or any of his Mithras' Elite Guards. In another tent, in the southern area, there is another chest. Inside, there are some more magical items. In the southwest side, there is Edgard who has been captured by the Sha'ahouls. Open the cage and talk to him. At first he will not trust you but at the end, after you show him your real identify, he will accept to follow you. Tell him to wait for your return since you want to clear Village 16 before. Go east to Village 16. Village 16In the northwestern area, there are some a few items inside a chest which is located inside a big building. Mithras is located to the southeast, but you can not kill him. There is also a Weapon Case but non-Scouts can not open it. Return to Village 15. Village 15Talk to Edgard and tell him that you are ready and that know you a way. He will join your party. Go to Village 1. Village 1You will confront a group of Fighters and Scouts. Kill them. Go to South Gate. South GateAs soon you enter, Edgard will leave the party and you will receive 10 Training Points for rescuing him. Go to Outer Bailey. Outer BaileyTalk to Olon. Tell him that you have brought him the dreamwalker's wand. Then, tell him that you still need the mask. Go to Outer Keep Lvl 2. Outer Keep Lvl 2Talk to Mudam. Tell him that you have finished scouting each of the 3 areas. Then, tell him what you have learnt from each of the 3 areas. He will suggest you to speak to Captain Calvaric and to procure oils from alchemists to burn the walfare machine down. Go to Inner Bailey. Inner BaileyTalk to Captain Calverous, he is inside the tavern on the eastern side. Tell him that Mudam has ordered me to inform you that a non-human race he calls the Naga are encraching upon the ruined village. He will thank you for informing him. Go to Inner Keep Lvl 2. Inner Keep Lvl 2Talk to Fester. Tell him that you need to burn something large very quickly. He will tell you that he has been working on a formula that will allow any weapon to burn something. He will then give you an Oil Flask. Equip the Oil Flask. By equipping it, your weapon will now do heat damage. Go to Village 10. Village 10Attack the Battering Ram Shell. It will burn and be destroyed. You will get 10 Training Points. Return to South Gate Lvl 2. South Gate Lvl 2Talk to Elazar. Tell im that you have destroyed the ram. Go to Inner Keep Lvl 2. Inner Keep Lvl 2Talk to Fester. Tell him that the oil worked magnificiently and that his knowledge has once again proven invaluable to Avalon's defense. He will be happy and tell you to keep the oil. Go down to Inner Keep Lvl 1. Inner Keep Lvl 1Talk to Johrit. He will tell you that he seen Edgard and that he is no longer fear to have to give tragic news to his sister. He also tell you that if you ever need something, just to call him. Talk to Sir Roth. Ask him about the Naga. He says that some believes that they were created by a magic-user. Then, tell him that the excursion to find Ovoron's satchel has been a success. He will then ask you to kill Ovoron and to return his sword. He also say that it is one of the biggest sword and to make room to be able to carry it. Go to Village 15. Village 15Go to the northeast and you will be attacked by General Ovoron. Kill him and retrieve the Ovoron's Sword from his corpse. Return to Inner Keep Lvl 1. Inner Keep Lvl 1Talk to Sir Roth. Tell him you have dispatched the traitor Ovoron and that you are returning his sword. He will tell you to keep his sword and to tell the good news to Mudam. Go to Outer Keep Lvl 2. Outer Keep Lvl 2Talk to Mudam. Tell him that you have finished a task assigned by Sir Roth and that you have succeeded in Sir Roth's plan to assassinate General Ovoron. Mudam suggests to tell the news to Captain Calvaric. Go to Outer Bailey. Outer BaileyTalk to Captain Calvaric and tell him that you have destroyed the battering ram. Also, tell him that Sir Roth gave me an assignement to assassinate General Ovoron and that I succeeded. Go to Inner Bailey. Inner BaileyNOTE: I was not able to have the following conversation with Olon as I should have. If you know what I am missing to have the 04disrupted flag set up. Talk to Olon and tell him you have finished with the mask. He will tell you to keep the mask. End of Chapter 4 |
